PLACES TO VISIT

Things to do and places to see.

Inveraray is one of the most delightful and unusual small towns in Scotland to visit.

Newton Hall provides an excellent centre for day touring in the area using Inveraray as your hub. It is within easy reach of Loch Awe, Cruachan, Oban, Fort William and Ben Nevis, Mallaig, Dunoon, Rothesay, Arran, Tarbert, Campbeltown and Glasgow and many more interesting and attractive towns and cities.

There is also a host of great visitor attractions on Newton Hall's doorstep which include:

Inveraray Castle

Bell Tower

Inveraray Jail

Moto Scotland

Crarae Gardens

Auchindrain  Museum

Newton Hall also makes the perfect base from which to explore the Highlands and Islands, Oban being only just 39 miles away with ferries to Iona, Tiree, Colonsay and Mull. The Kennacraig Ferry to Islay, is 48 miles south on the Kintyre Peninsula, if whisky distilleries are of interest. Alternatively golf breaks, fresh water/sea fishing and walking also make Newton Hall the perfect location.

For a small town Inveraray is well-served for eating places; all within easy walking distance.
